This high quality piece of innovative machinery from Lamont is specifically designed to cut an 80mm slot in both the right and left of the underside of the drawer unit, to facilitate the fitting of the drawer slide mechanism. This unique machine is designed with an extremely high degree of safety features.
The drawer is clamped to the machine bed, and cannot be operated unless the drawer is in place on the bed, this means that the fast revolving cutter wheel is never exposed to the operator. When there is no drawer in place, the cutter wheel withdraws beneath the table, and a steel sliding door covers the slot in the bed where the cutter would be in the cutting position.
Dust extraction is also provided to exit from the rear of the cabinet.
Drawer Notching Machine
If required, it can also be provided with the facility to drill a 6mm hole in the workpiece whilst the drawer is still on the work top.
Maintenance, cutter changing, and cleaning to the inside of the cabinet is very simple due to the cabinet bed opening and closing using a pneumatic ram operated by a simple switch.
- The electrical control box is designed to the latest electrical CE standards.
- The bed has built in air nozzles to keep the bed surface free from sawdust which might interfere with the precision placing of the drawer carcass against the back stop and clamping facilities.
- The cutter height can be finely adjusted to compensate for wear developing on the cutter blades.
- The cutter wheel can be re sharpened and any broken cutter blades can be replaced if necessary.
- It is recommended that the customer purchases a spare cutter wheel to be used whilst the cutter is away for re sharpening.
- This machine is the only one built in the UK to this standard.
